PointFreedom is a "boutique" brokerage firm based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania serving owners of small to mid-sized businesses in the Pittsburgh and entire Tri-State area since 2002. We specialize in representing quality businesses in service, distribution and light manufacturing industries that are profitable and have identifiable future growth opportunities.

Our company is divided into two segments: Main Street Business Brokerage (businesses with revenues of $250,000 up to $5 million) and Mergers & Acquisitions (businesses with revenues up to $50 million). To ensure we have all the resources needed for success, our Main Street Brokerage operation is backed by an international network of brokerage offices and business professionals that have been helping business owners since 1981. Our M&A operation is backed by an affiliation with Gottesman Company, a national Mergers & Acquisitions firm based in New York City with over 70 M&A associates across the country.

Our President
Douglas C. Cotton, CPA, CBB, AEA

A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Doug brings over 25 years of broad-based experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, deal structuring, sales and marketing, financial and operations management, and small business sales. Doug is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Business Broker, and an Accredited Executive Associate of the Institute for Independent Business.

Doug, born and raised in Pittsburgh, has owned a number of service businesses himself and has served as a Corporate Officer in several Fortune 500 companies at the Vice President and Regional President levels. His background includes hands-on experience in distribution and manufacturing, as well as a number of different business service industries. This background uniquely enables Doug to fully understand his client's business as well as their issues and concerns and to effectively achieve the goals of the owner.
