They represent bars, restaurants, convenience stores and the like right alongside manufacturing companies. A few may make this work, but no many. At PointFreedom, we're different!

Our Focus
PointFreedom is a "boutique" brokerage firm that specializes in representing high-quality businesses in the service, distribution and light manufacturing industries only. That's our background and we're experts at understanding and serving those industries. We focus on "Main Street" businesses, those with annual revenues from $250,000 up to $5 million.

Our Structure
We've chosen to structure our business as "Fixed-Fee Advisors" instead of "Commissioned Reps". The difference here is crucial. Commissioned reps spend their time where they think they will earn the most money with the biggest businesses typically getting the most attention. The smaller and/or harder to sell businesses tend to fall of their radar screen quickly. And if your business is easier to sell, you end up paying an exhorbitant fee for the time invested.

A Professional Advisor on the other hand, such as a corporate lawyer or CPA, charges you for their time invested, so all clients earn equal treatment regardless of their size or profitability. This is how we operate. We charge a reasonable fixed fee for our all-inclusive services and we give all our clients the same high-quality representation AND RESULTS that they expect and deserve. Best of all, we do this without requiring Exclusive or Long-Term Contracts.

Douglas C. Cotton, CPA, CBB

A graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Doug brings over 25 years of high-level experience in finance, mergers and acquisitions, deal structuring, sales and marketing, operations management, and small business sales. He is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Business Broker and a Certified Total Quality Management Facilitator. Doug has served as a Corporate Officer in several Fortune 500 companies at the Vice President and Regional President levels and currently owns a number of service businesses. This broad-based background uniquely enables Doug to fully understand his client's business as well as their issues and concerns and to effectively achieve the goals of the owner.
